Artist Walk: IN SEARCH OF THE MIRACULOUS
This psycho-geographic walk has been specifically developed and conceptualised for Unseen by April Gertler. It is open to the public and visitors of the fair, who are invited to explore a small area of the city through personal points of view, highlighting photographic histories.
While walking, some of the many stories that will be touched upon are; understanding how to tap into memories of a place through photographs, questioning what it means to be inspired as an artist, exploring personal accounts by photographers in the making of and conceptualisation of their work, and recognising the importance of the color yellow in the cityscape of Amsterdam. Some photographers and artists that we will be discussed are; Jeroen Hofman, Aimée Zito Lema, Ed van der Elsken, Ata Kandó, Saskia Janssen and George Korsmit, in addition to Uta Eisenreich and many more.
IN SEARCH OF THE MIRACULOUS is about experiencing a place from a a wide variety of entrance points by engaging and guiding the participant to observe, taste, respond and act.
