11.30-12.30
Futures presents: Change

Start your day with a presentation by emerging artists from Europe’s newest photography platform, Futures. Three featured artists retell the journeys they’ve undertaken to shed light on marginalised communities and raise awareness on a variety of cultural issues.

Ángel Luis González (Founder and Director, PhotoIreland Foundation) in conversation with Futures artists Raúl Moreno (ES), Lena Dobrowolska (PL) & Teo Ormond (UK) and Yana Wernicke (DE).

13.00-14.30
Aperture presents: Film & Photo

Since the early twentieth century, photography and the moving image have had an intimate and intertwined history as filmmakers and photographers drew inspiration from one another. Witness a conversation between artists that utilise both mediums, as they delve into the symbiotic relationship between the two most influential mediums of contemporary art.

David Campany (writer, curator and artist) in conversation with Wendy McMurdo (visual artist) and Paulien Oltheten (visual artist).

14.45-15.45
Artists Talks

Each year, Unseen invites both young and established artists to shed light on their creative process. Hear from Sean McFarland (US), whose work deals with contemporary and historical perceptions of the landscape, Elina Brotherus (FI), who blurs the line between performance and photography, and Arko Datto (IN), who questions the role of the photographer in the digital age.

16.00 - 17.00
Premiere Presentations

Every year, Unseen Amsterdam exhibits a number of Premieres seen in the flesh for the first time. Join us for a discussion with a selection of artists who will elaborate on their latest projects.

Pavel Kovalski (Coordinator, Unseen Living Room) moderates a panel discussion with six premiering artists in three sittings.
