The oeuvre of Wynolt Visser (Leeuwarden 1981) can be seen as a diary. He transforms his personal experiences into photography, clothing, logos, books, embroidery, furniture and sculptures. He has no problems portraying himself, his closest family or friends, or in mixing with strangers that catch his eye in photos in the digital media. Wynolt Visser is his work, and his work is Wynolt Visser. At the moment, for example, Wynolt draws in his own photos using his iPad, manually sews in an extra layer of textile fragments, and often frames them in textile passe-partouts. Visser, who is to be given his own room in the Fries Museum in Leeuwarden (opening September 2013), will be exhibiting his most recent works during Unseen.
