Tilman Peschel (1976, Freiburg, Germany) studied at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne, Germany. His sculptural imagery is characterized by a balance between abstraction and naturalism, seriousness and irony, revealing a beauty of its own. Peschel actively induces conflicts in appearance and meaning, challenging the allegedly realistic medium of photography. He approaches the construction and deconstruction of our modern everyday perception through his work.
He received his MA along with Norbvert Klauke at the Academy of Media Art, Cologne. He has exhibited at the Academy of Arts, Berlin, Deichtorhallen, Hamburg, and at the renowned institution ZKM Karlsruhe among others. His work can be found in collections such as the Jean Pigozzi Collection, Geneva, Montblanc Collection, Hamburg.
