Sarah Anne Johnson

Sarah Anne Johnson received her MFA from the Yale School of Art in 2002 after studying at the University of Manitoba. Her first major project “Tree Planting” an installation consisting of over 70 prints was acquired in its entirety by the Guggenheim Museum of Art and her work has been exhibited and acquired by major museums in the US and Canada including the Art Gallery of Ontario, and The National Gallery of Canada. She received the prestigious Grange prize in 2008, a $50,000 award which goes to a photographic artist. Although her work is photo-based, she has worked in sculpture, painting, installation and performance.
