Born in Vittorio Veneto in 1986, Rachele Maistrello lives between Bologna and Venice. She graduated at IUAV University in Venice, fulfilling her studies in Zurich at the Photography Department at ZHDK Academy. In 2015 she was awarded by Museo Fattori in Livorno with the Combat Prize and a few months later she received an honorable mention at Francesco Fabbri Award for Contemporary Arts. Her work has been shown at IMMIX gallery, Paris, France (2008); ZKM Museum, Karlsruhe, Germany (2009); BYOB, 54 Biennal of Venice, Italy (2011); the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Milan, Italy (2012); Galerie 201, Zürich, Switzerland (2012). In 2013 she was granted a one year artist-residency in Venice at the contemporary art Foundation Bevilacqua La Masa. In 2016 she has been selected for LIVEstudio residency program in Metronom, Modena. Among the recent shows she participated: Vedo Non vedo curated by Filippo Luini at The Lone T (Milan, 2016), ASSULA curated by Zoe de Luca at Workbench international (Milan, 2016), Arcadia at Gelateria Sogni di Ghiaccio (Bologna, 2016). Her works will be part of Mediterranea 18 Young Artists Biennale in Tirana. Selected for the project Level 0 during ArtVerona in 2016, she will present her series One of Us, in a personal exhibition at Museo Fattori in Italy, curated by Zoe de Luca (2017).
