Nelli Palomäki (1981, Forssa, Finland) graduated in 2008 from the Arts Academy at Turku University of Applied Sciences with a BA in Photography and went on continuing her education with a MA program at the Aalto University of Arts, Design and Architecture in Helsinki. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and exhibitions in various European, North American and Asian cities. Among the venues that have presented her work are Aperture Gallery in New York, Kulturhuset in Stockholm, Helsinki City Art Museum and Danish National Museum of Photography in Copenhagen. In 2010 she was part of the Daegu Biennale in South Korea. Her works have been shown regularly at Paris Photo since 2009. In spring 2010 Palomäki placed 2nd at the Sony World Photography Awards in the portraiture category and the same year the Hasselblad Foundation awarded her the Victor Fellowship Grant towards her studies in London. Nelli Palomäki was the nominee of the Paul Huf award in 2011 and nominee of the Discovery Awards at the 2012 edition of Les Rencontres d’Arles. She has been selected as one of the young emerging artists for the reGeneration2: Tomorrow's Photographers Today project.
