Michael Wolf is a German photographer whose work focuses on life in major cities. Wolf’s work focuses on the layered urban life, documenting the architecture and vernacular nature of the metropolises. For 8 years Wolf worked as a contract photographer in Hong Kong which initiated his interest in the city life around him. After this Wolf, has had a huge variety of successful projects, all focusing on places where he has studied and experienced. Wolf has exhibited his work in many major locations and held in many major collections around the world. Wolf won first prize in the World Press Photo Award competition on two occasions (2005 & 2010) and an honorable mention (2011.) In 2010, and again in 2017 he was shortlisted for the Prix Pictet photography prize.
