Lucia Nimcová (1977, Humenné, former Czechoslovakia) studied at the Institute of Creative Photography in Opava and at the Rijksakademie Van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. She has recently exhibited at Viafarini (Milan), Utah Museum of Contemporary Arts, Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Art Miami, Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam, The Netherlands), Mucsarnok – Kunsthalle (Budapest), Aarhus Kunstbygning (Denmark), Billytown (Hague, The Netherlands), SMBA (Amsterdam, The Netherlands), BWA Sokol (Poland), Trezor Bank Austria Kunstforum (Vienna, Austria).

She received the Images Vevey Photography Prize (Switzerland), TatraBanka Art Award (Slovakia), ECB Photography Award (Germany), Oskar Cepan Award (Slovakia), Leica Oskar Barnack Award (Germany), as well as the Baume and Mercier Award (Italy). Her works have been acquired by Stedelijk Museum, MUDAM (Luxembourg) and Slovak National Gallery (Bratislava, Slovakia).
