Julia Smirnova

Julia Smirnova (b. 1981, Russia) studied photo design at Munich University of Applied Sciences (2007), continuing her professional development through her years travelling and working in Calcutta and Paris. Smirnova has been shortlisted for numerous awards such as the Munich Art Prize in photography (2013) and the Lacoste Elysee Prize (2011), and her work is represented in the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center, New York; the Bavarian State Picture Collection/Pinakothek, Munich; and the Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts, Japan.

Smirnova is currently living and working in Munich, Germany.
