Jules Spinatsch

Swiss visual artist Jules Spinatsch has over the last decade developed very innovative and idiosyncratic approaches towards photography using mainly automated webcams and more recently robotic cameras to generate his projects. He has received various solo-shows and was included in exhibitions such EXPOSED, TATE Modern, London (2008) and New Photography, MoMA, New York (2006). He has received numerous awards and artist residencies such as the International BMW Photography Prize, Paris Photo (2004), Canton Zurich Art Award (2009), Landis and Gyr Residency, London (2002), City of Zurich Residency, San Francisco and Hawaii (2008). He published numerous books, among them the highly acclaimed monograph Temporary Discomfort (2005) with two further monographs published in 2013/4.
