Joanne Dugan (US, 1961) is a visual artist, writer and educator who lives and works in New York City. Her photographs and text have been published in seven books, including the best-selling ABC NYC: A Book About Seeing New York City (Abrams) and two fine-art monographs. She is the editor of Summertime (Chronicle Books), a hardcover photography book featuring the work 46 emerging and established photographers from around the world. She is a faculty member of the International Center of Photography in New York City and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, MA.
Currently working with analog photographic materials in small or unique-image editions, her handmade images have been exhibited in the United States, Germany and Japan and are part of many public and private collections. She is at work on a new book about photography as a daily creative practice.
