Elina Brotherus

Elina Brotherus (FI, 1972) is considered one of the most important European contemporary photographers, being profiled on books like Collect Contemporary Photography by Jocelyn Phillips, and 100 Fotógrafos Europeos by Rosa Olivares. Her strategy as an artist is "to accept the pictures that need to happen". Brotherus was selected for photography biennials like São Paulo, Sydney, Istanbul, and Lyon. Her autobiographical works are present in public collections like the Centre Pompidou, FRAC, Moderna Museet and Museum of Fine Arts of Houston.

She published a large number of photobooks and was awarded prestigious prizes like the Prix Nièpce Gens d’Images, the Carnegie Art Award, the Citibank Private Banking Photography Prize and the Carte Blanche PMU.
