Elina Brotherus (b.1972, Finland) is the most reputed artist from the Helsinki School of Photography, presently the most influential school of photography at an international level. Brotherus was selected for photography biennials like Sao Paulo, Sidney, Estambul, Lyon, MAMAC, and Nordic Biennial. Her works are present in public collections like the FRAC, Moderna Museet, Chateau d’Eau, and Museum of Fine Arts of Houston. She published a large number of photobooks and was awarded relevant prizes like the prestigious Prix Nièpce Gens d’Images, the Carnegie Art Award, and the Citibank Private Banking Photography Prize. Brotherus is considered one of the most important European contemporary photographers, being profiled on books like "Collect Contemporary Photography" by Jocelyn Phillips, and “100 Fotógrafos Europeos” by Rosa Olivares.
