Alberto Sinigaglia (IT, 1984) obtained his BA in Architecture at IUAV University in Venice, then completed his education in Photography in Milan.
Sinigaglia uses the camera mainly to exclude things from the frame, in an attempt of semplifing the chaos of this global time of doubtness, reducing the context as much as possible in order to create a displacement. He likes to keep the photographs abstract and use reality to evoke fictional scenarios. His research explores the space of representation at its boundaries where the gaze gets confused and suspended between fiction and reality, where interpretation plays a fundamental role. The various projects are linked both by conceptual and formal aspects, like a mix of original documentary photographs and archive picture and their alteration and manipulation. The artist considers his works as inventories of fragments which are used to question our visual knowledge of the world, inviting the viewer into a space of speculation.
