Wim van Krimpen
Wim van Krimpen
Wim van Krimpen opened his gallery in 1978 in Amsterdam, introducing work by artists such as Gunter Forg, Isa Genzken, Anisch Kapoor, Rob Birza and Martin Disler. In 1985, Van Krimpen was director and one of the founding members of KunstRai, the first art fair of the Netherlands. Wim van Krimpen has also functioned as the director of Kunsthal Rotterdam, Fries Museum, and Gemeentemuseum The Hague. The gallery in Amsterdam re-opened its doors in 2011 with a focus on young artists, including Mirjana Vrbaski, Satijn Panyigay, Tanja Deman, Stylianos Schicho, Jop Vissers Vorstenbosch and Nare Eloyan. Closest to Wim van Krimpen's heart today are contemporary art and photography, and this is reflected in the programming of the gallery.
During Unseen, the gallery will have two exhibitions on display: Sunday, a project with an accompanying book by Paul Kooiker, and Stillevens, a series of vintage-photographs from 1980-1985 by Helena van der Kraan.
