For this gallery spotlight we travel to the other side of the world... Tokyo, Japan. Since its establishment in the art complex building NADiff A/P/A/R/T in Ebisu, in 2008, G/P Gallery has been a platform for new Japanese photographers. By organizing The Exposed shows and portfolio reviews for young photographers, the gallery has been important in the discovery and encouragement of young Japanese talent. Additionally, the gallery evokes discussions about photography as an art form and participates in cultural exchanges with international photographers.

At Unseen, G/P Gallery will represent several Japanese photographers including Mayumi Hosokura (1979), Taisuke Koyama (1978) and Yumiko Utsu (1978). Both Hosokura and Koyama have been featured in Talent issues of Foam Magazine: Hosokura in Issue #28 / Talent in 2011, and Koyama in Issue #20 / Talent in 2010. This year's Talent Call just closed but the launch of the Talent issue will actually take place at Unseen.

Currently on display at G/P Gallery is the exhibition, Norihito Ogata: On the ShorelineNorihito Ogata (1975), known for creating photographs using images on the Internet, recently won the jury's recommendation at the 15th Japan Media Arts Festival. This exhibition showcases photographs taken by Ogata himself of the area after devastated by the March 2011 earthquake in Japan. The exhibition is on display until 29 April.

G/P Gallery is located in the art complex NADiff A/P/A/R/T 2F, 1-18-4 Ebisu, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, and is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 12-6pm.
