The Dutch photography duo WassinkLundgren, a collaboration of  London-based Thijs Groot Wassink (1981) and Beijing-based Ruben Lundgren (1983), was asked to photograph collectors with a photograph from his/her personal collection. The series of portraits was featured in a mini-magazine of Unseen that was featured in the July issue of the international design magazine, Wallpaper* (read our interview with Wallpaper* magazine Editor-in-Chief, Tony Chambers). Previously featured collectors are Anthony James Berowne (London), Meg Maggio (Beijing), Thomas A. Schneider (Berlin), and today we feature Rotterdam-based collector Cathy Suiker.

When asked about the first time she saw the work, named Untitled by Martien Mulder (edition 1/10), Cathy Suiker answered, "The first time I saw this work was in an email sent to me by the gallery [Kahmann Gallery in Amsterdam]. I was immediately fascinated by it. It is so appealing with its light colour scheme and summertime feeling." Suiker, then, was eager to see the print in person, and "when that happened, I was immediately convinced," she said. "I had to have this print. It is both very exotic and very erotic. It is hanging in our bedroom, the perfect place for this work."
