Paolo Ventura

Paolo Ventura (b. 1968, Italy) is an established Italian photographer, renowned for his series of reflective, melancholic and partly humouristic narrative works anchored either in the war period or in a timeless setting. His technique is manifold, and includes painting, maquettes, cutting and pasting, photography and drawing.

Ventura studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. In 2011, he was selected for the Italian national pavilion at the 54th Venice Biennale. His work is exhibited at the Modern and Contemporary Art Museum of Trento and Rovereto, Italy; the Forma International Center of Photography in Milan, The Hague Museum of Photography, The Netherlands; the Italian Academy at Columbia University in New York, the Atlas Gallery in London, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Roma, Italy. His work also belongs to many public collections.
