Oskar Schmidt (b. 1977, Germany) lives and works in Berlin. Schmidts work has been presented in several solo exhibitions, such as at Museum Gunzenhauser Chemnitz (upcoming); Fotomuseum Winterthur (2016); Neues Museum Weimar (2013/14); Goethe-Institut, Washington D.C. (2010) and C/O Berlin (2009). Furthermore he participated in numerous group exhibitions e.g. at Center for Creative Photography, Tucson (2015/16); Daimler Art Collection, Stuttgart (2014); Aperture Foundation, New York (2014); Daimler Contemporary, Berlin (2014); Marburger Kunstverein (2013); Museum Abtei Liesborn (2012); Museum für bildende Künste Leipzig (2011); Zabludowicz Collection London (2010); Art Collection Deutsche Börse (2010); Städtische Galerie Karlsruhe (2009); Stadtgalerie Kiel (2009) and Kunsthalle Rostock (2009). Schmidt received the Marion Ermer Award (2013); Scholarship at Künstlerhaus Lukas–Ahrenshoop (2012) and the C/O Berlin Talents award (2009). In 2014 he was nominated for the Paris Photo–Aperture Foundation Photobook Awards.
