Antoine d’Agata is a renowned character in the world of photography. Best known for his intense and explicit photographs that capture his dealings with fear, desire, sex and death, he has spent his career travelling to the very heart of the human experience. Paradigms centres on d’Agata’s eponymous latest series. In this series he focusses on sequencing, pushing mass accumulation of images until the point of almost complete saturation and abstraction. D’Agata employs the sequencing to visualise his permanent state of being, where the boundaries between the senses and reason become completely blurred and the barriers between photography, film, diary, diction, recording, performance, poetry and pure existence fade.
Kahmann Gallery, founded in 2005, is located in the Jordaan area of Amsterdam. Although originally focusing on Dutch vintage photography, the scope has broadened over time to include equal volumes of work of international and contemporary photographers.
The gallery initiates multiple exhibitions a year, participates in international art fairs and is involved in the publication of magazines and books dedicated to photography. Kahmann Gallery will remain a specialist in the sale of unique photography that has made history or will most likely do so.
